The Vita is a failure but the PS3 ... not really. If you sell 90 million of any hardware in this business, that means it was widely accepted by a huge user base. That's the 4th highest selling console in history. The fault for hardware losses lies solely on the upper management of Sony forcing Blu-Ray into the machine in order to win the video format war. But Sony's bottom line performance in every console gen ... all they do it sell a lot of consoles. I mean when 90+ million is your freaking "down generation" that's saying a lot.
For sales they are the most consistent console seller by a country mile. No one else has consistently sold consoles like them ... Nintendo, Sega, Microsoft are all over the place generation to generation.

if you lose money you failed, especially when you sold that many.
Making money is the sole reason these guys are in business.

LOL you just don't get what he is saying. Add half of the profits blue ray has made Sony into the equation. Spoiler Alert: It's a lot more than the PS3 lost.
Prediction for console Lifetime sales:
Wii:100-120 million, PS3:80-110 million, 360:70-100 million
[Prediction Made 11/5/2009]
3DS: 65m, PSV: 22m, Wii U: 18-22m, PS4: 80-120m, X1: 35-55m
I gauruntee the PS5 comes out after only 5-6 years after the launch of the PS4.
