They better hope it's not successful. It'd be like getting caught with your pants down when iphone and android enter the mobile os market and you were to busy writing it off as just a fad. Everything AR can do can be done in VR... VR can do things AR can't... AR has design restrictions VR will never have. How people can claim to be excited by AR (for gaming) and not VR blows my mind.

Don't get me wrong, I like looking at fish tanks from the outside (AR).  But I'd rather experience swimming in the tank, moving around, and exploring it from a different perspective (VR). I guess a lot of people are excited about looking at touch screen fish tanks (AR) that can be done in (VR).
