I think what is evident from most of these suggestions is that there is still plenty of gold to mine from this game for Nintendo. Even using their very modest DLC structure implemented in Mario Kart 8 will ensure Nintendo a steady bankroll. It's really too bad that so many casuals jumped ship to tablets, smartphones, etc this generation, because this game is perfect for that demographic.
I'm going to go ahead and add a poll for when people think we will see the first of the DLC, be it paid or free (although I really can't see them giving it for free unless it's just a patch and a few additions like checkpoints/slopes).
