The only distinction between handhelds and home units is power supply and form factor, everything else is a fabrication. By definition they are video game consoles, standalone machines that play video game software.

Different products and Different software is a meaningless distinction. The PS2 and PS3 are different products with different software as well.

The handheld and home console market are simply submarkets of the larger gaming market, suggesting they don't overlap is ludicrous especially considering Nintendo's IPS and PlayStation's crossbuy.

I never said the "Home" console.

The fact that every single video game sales study in history divides and clearly differentiates between handhelds and home consoles should give you a hint that your argument is a losing one. Even this site seperates the two.

Ever wonder why?

How about we clarify what the "Arguments" are here.

You're saying that because Home Consoles and Handheld are placed in seperate categories, they are entirely different types of machines.

I'm saying, that just because they are placed in seperate categories doesn't mean they aren't the same thing, in the same category over all. Propreitary, stand-alone dedicated gaming devices. Their classified in different categories, because its specificity allows for better analysis.

I mean, what do you think the point of subcategories are anyway?

Instead of making a tangential appeal to authority, just look at the definition of a console is. I mean, what do you think the "Home" in Home Console means?
