Microsoft: And here's our new XBox, launching fall 2018 that's 15 times more powerful with 4K resolution. It'll just be Wii U all over again. AMD's 14nm tech is ready to go for 2016 anyway. Use it for fuck's sake Nintendo, not every new product you make needs to have technology from the stone age. |
Thats the thing I don't think Nintendo will use 14nm next year, they love their mature nodes. Hopefully, Kimishima will slap some sense into some of the HW decision makers.
Like its been discussed on these forums, receiving big 3rd party support would be a bonus. IMO, Nintendo releasing a significantly more powerful version of the portable NX, would be to add value to the big screen option. There is a decent chance of a mere "NXtv" flopping badly, which is why I think a semi powerful console is still possible in the future.
