Nintendo just approached Western third parties last E3. They would have about a year to port or develop a game. Iwata has said before that nintendo would not make the same mistakes again and release their next console without enough launch titles or with a big drought after the release. To me It seems more like a 2017 launch than 2016. |
1.5 years is plenty of time to develop a game. Devs had the same amount of time getting ready for PS4 / X1 and that worked so your argument is invalid. And Square certainly didn't announce Dragon Quest without knowing the specs of the console or before having extensive meetings with Nintendo reps. The devs know about NX and they have known about ist for some Time now.
There is plenty of evidence pointing to a 2016 launch (please don't make me make a list), you guys just don't *want* the console to release that early. But we all know this is going to change very quickly once Nintendo unveils NX at e3 next year and announces Zelda, Metroid and the next Mario game.
