Spent my ban-day in the pub watching all the games. I took a few UK people with me who weren't too versed on American Football and they mostly played pool (and demolished me at it) but at least they kind of watched the games! Anyhow a few observations:

-That game between the Ravens and Broncos was a gooder (if not very frustrating for me). I quite like defensive battles. That last Ravens drive had me very excited (what was it; the second time either offense had entered the red zone?), but of course there would be an endzone interception. Isn't that how it always works? Oh, and to rub salt in the wound, Suggs is out for the season. At least Manning looks like dusty farts.
-By all means, the Cowboys did not deserve to win. They practically gifted the G-men all of their points from turnovers, gifted them 1st downs from stupid penalties, and dropped key passes that would have extended drives. I wanted the Cowboys to win because I picked them in my bracket, but the Giants deserved that victory.
-The Bills had a very very strong game against the Colts. A close friend of me told me before the season that they would make the playoffs in a convincing manner, and by the looks of that first game he may be right. Defense and run game look strong. I'd love to see someone from that division slap the Patriots around at least once (pretty please!).
-In two separate battles between terrible teams that I'm positive no one was watching (Jets/Browns and Titans/Buccaneers), at least one of them proved to have interesting highlights. Yes, the Titans thrashed the Buccaneers, but I'll reserve judgement on ol' Tennessee until week 3. They play the Browns next week so no biggie there: a strong performance against the Colts will be a better indicator of their skillz.
