If sony makes a new system in a few years which passes the ps3 at a cheaper price better stuff, Nintendo will be forced to compete. You know what Nintendo has a bad case of flopping a lot, since Super Nintendo, Virtual Boy flopped, N64 flopped, Gamecube flopped, Wii is their baby and if they don't make the next system to meet what people want in the future they will flop again. Sony will probably take over, unless microsoft ends up making a new system with its horrific death rate. If Microsoft fails again their out of the race. They are not going to waste time going through all that shit again with the warranty and crap so they lose more money. BTW: This whole thread is pure speculation. We will see what happens. No one can predict the future. |
In relative terms, Sony would have to sell over 100 Million PS3 systems to be as successful as the SNES was compared to the NES, over 80 Million units to be as successful as the N64 was compared to the SNES, over 80 Million units to be as successful as the Gamecube was compared to the N64, and over 45 Million consoles to be as successful as the Gamecube was compared to the NES.
Except for the Virtual Boy, Nintendo systems didn't flop; they saw a moderate reduction in their existing userbase because Nintendo faced tougher competition and had difficulty remaining relevant in a changing market.
