Ahhh, David S. Goyer has done such amazing work and I remember seeing his name attached to Man of Steel (along with Christopher Nolan) and thinking that there is no way this movie could be bad. Having said that, Goyer has made some pretty bad scripts in the past as well but after The Dark Knight trilogy I got my hopes up for this film.
