It's early yet.
Either way, the Wii will probably "win."
I doubt the extended fanbase who buys the Wii will have much interest in an HD console.
Outside of our gaming world, in the public(ultra casual) eye, the Wii is seen as the "best" console brand.
It's also affordable.
What I guess I'm saying is, the Wii has the potential to turn into the DS for 3rd party developers, if it keeps this sales pace up for a couple more years and the software sales scale well with the increased userbase.
Don't count out the PS3 or 360 as tanked consoles just yet.
It's not like their "massive" libraries are full of shock and awe at this point.
The Wii is a threat to the well being of the HD consoles, otherwise there would be no vast Wii-hater conspiracy on the internet.
