When was the last time you saw someone pointing out that Sega blew hundreds of millions of dollars on a marketing campaign that had TV commercials without gameplay footage and a deal as jersey sponsor for Arsenal London? Nevermind that the Sega logo was absent, so the average person had no clue that the Dreamcast was a video game console. Or take the GameCube. A system that is heavily romanticized for its software library despite many questionable decisions by Nintendo regarding the design of first party games. If anything, opinions will be more positive about the Wii U in the future. Partly because the games will do most of the talking in hindsight, partly because the current detractors will be more focused on putting down newer Nintendo systems. |
Being reduced to the games is not going to help the Wii U.
Also the DC isn't only remembered for its games either a large part of the nostalgia stems from it being the last Sega console.
