No it wouldn't, the PS3 cost $600 because it cost $800 to make.  They won't ever make that mistake again.  However if there was no X1 the PS4 would likely have worse holiday bundles.

They would also put less resources in games. There would be no incentive with no significant competition. They would just be more reliant on 3rd parties.
