It's a little worrying how tiny the attachment ratio is for the biggest Nintendo franchise. if it indeed only sells 700-800K.
We all know that Nintendo's hardware is based purely on shipment |
No need to worry about Nintendo.
Also, of note, MKWii has already sold a million copies WW, before this week even happened.
If the Wii was selling like the PS3 is selling, that attach rate is quite good.
The fact is, the attach rate for the Wii is lower in America over a 12 month period according to Patcher, not because the Wii is selling less software than other consoles. It's almost certainly selling more worldwide and has been on a consistant basis.
The Wii's attach rate is slightly lower than the PS3's in America over the last year because the Wii has been selling so well, hardware wise, that it's nearly impossible for software sales to catch up. However, the Wii is doing a fine job of selling software despite its monumental hardware sales.
Seen the Others, and Japanese software charts lately?
It's funny when I actually classify America as country of least Nintendomination in software sales. It is still quite a dominating force here, however, there is actually some competition, unlike Others and Japan, pre GTAIV that is.
I blame Canada.
In the end, this all references back to the NYT article, which is still being used as ammo by Wii haters, as I find out in most posts about sales.
I don't need your console war.
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor.
You're power hungry, spinnin' stories, and bein' graphics whores.
I don't need your console war.
NO NO, NO NO NO.
