There is virtually no similarities in how Greece has been handled compared to how Sweden is run so I really don´t see your point? The distance between the countries is 1500 miles, where one is at the mediterranean and the other far up at the northern hemisphere. We view taxation, education, corporations completely different and are closer in society to the US than Greece if anything.
What is the bad thing about using taxes to fund the whole infrastructure, military, education, justice system, health? You already to it to a high degree in the US but you are doing it in a way that drains tax resources in a way that would never happen in, for example, Sweden. I am positive that if Bernie would become president than the rich 1% would see massive tax gains while the low income earnes would see a tax decrease. That is the only way to get a country back on its feet.
