True, but it could have been objectively worse. They need to milk the system as much as they can. WIth a 16 million userbase and 100 million + software sales (from which Nintendo would sell a pretty big percentage) they might have a chance to make some money from it

Zelda is one title that could push them there. An open world, critically acclaimed entry into the series would most deffinatly be a good reason for many gamers to jump on a 3.5 year old system that didnt really got a whole lot of traction this generation.


They don't "need" to do anything. Wii U is going to be a spectacular market failure, there's no release that is going to realistically change that now. 

The iceberg has already been hit and this ship's been sinking for a while now and it's destination is the bottom of the Atlantic. Ain't nothing changing that. 

The only real question I guess would be if Zelda U becomes the worst selling mainline console Zelda game, which is an open question if it's a Wii U only title (much like DKC is the worst selling DKC game, Mario 3D World is the lowest selling 3D Mario game, etc. etc. etc.).
