The first one I'd contest. Wasn't it Ubisoft who said it only took 3 months or something to port to Wii U? If porting from x86 to power pc can be done that fast I don't see why doing it the other way round would be any different. Additionally it's very unlikely they would have bothered releasing Zombi U on PS/Xbox if it was that hard of a job to port. Nintendo EAD is actually one of the biggest studios in the world. Sure they are usually split up in to separate teams and working on separate projects, but I see no reason why they couldn't shift some staff to help out if needed. The last one is hard to argue as a fact. Facts are quantifiable, they can be measured and proved. How exactly would you quantify loyalty? High attach rates? Not directly, no. That could be due to a variety of other factors as well, maybe the game was just good/popular, maybe it was bundled, maybe it was cheap maybe there's other factors. Regardless, it doesn't prove without any room for doubt that Wii U owners are more loyal Nintendo fans than those on any previous system or the 3DS. |
For Ubisoft, which is a huge company.
Nintendo EAD is huge, but they are always focused on other things. They are always making games, even though they might just be the sequel to the next game or etc. They could shift some staff, but it would slow down production on their other games. Therefore, you could say Nintendo EAD is small due to them all being spread out. The TEAMS themselves are small, and they all work on different projects.
The last one is true though for every Nintendo game.. sure those other factors are put in, but in the end they don't make as much of a difference than you'd think.
It's not just true for Mario Kart, it is also true for Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Country TF, NSMBU, Smash Bros Wii U(with a 3DS version as well, and it is still outperforming the others when talking about attach rate)
All this evidence shows to prove that.
