^^ It's pretty much a guarantee. Even before it's great sales, you could tell that Capcom was thinking of a sequel.
The game itself covers Resident Evil 0, 1, 3 and a new area. It's pretty obvious that they want a second game involving numbers 2 and 4 (two of the most loved games in the series).
