@People: Try using the site with your mobile...
Anyway, one thing with the problem is, that this site is so heavy. 200k per download isn't exceptional.
The frontpage downloads decently almost all the time, but forum causes the most problems.
I'd say that the best way to address the issues would be making the site lighter and forum to have less posts per page. It wouldn't cause slowdowns as much and in case of slowdown, they wouldn't be so visible. Which would eventually turn into user satisfaction.
