It is because "DVD is good enough," that and the fact that most have been spending the last 10 years getting theirdvd libraries built and a format change feels like a slap in the face. The only people I knwo who are excited about Blu_ray are Sony fans and Technophiles. And they can keep it.

 If Blu-Ry movies and players where in the same price range with DVD movies and players then do you think the consumer would still choose DVD ?

If you do then you sir are indeed the fanboy , most of the blu-ray supporters have constantly said price is the main obstacle it's not the consumer not wanting Blu-Ray technology. 

Yes they would. There's no movies on BD that wouldn't be on DVD and there are rewritable DVD players with digital tuners. So BD isn't yet even close to what DVD offers.
