Is conflicting, part of the major appeal of Pokemon is it's simple battle system that like you said is pretty much perfect, yet it would be interesting to see some changes to the format.
Maybe have like a spin-off aside the main series? I don't know, I always imagine the series with something like the Tales of gameplay.
