With the recent leaps in mobile power I love the idea of a Wii U level handheld that becomes Nintendo's primary system. Even its only system and they just supply a dongle or something when you want to play on the big screen.
Releasing a new home console at that price point would just be a waste and probably doomed to failure again imo. Their next full blown hc NEEDS competitive hardware for both consumer appeal and third party support if they don't want history to repeat itself. At least on par with the PS4 if not better. For that, they'd probably need to launch at at least $300.
