To be fair though it did feel more like a 2D/3D hybrid with multiplayer co-operative play design rather than the sprawling 3D environments focused on exploration that SM64 and Sunshine had. Whilst it probably will be the only '3D' Mario game for the Wii U, alot of people(myself included) feel that it is not in the lineage of Super Mario 64, Sunshine and Galaxy. Just my opinion though.
A high-definition 3D mario more akin to SM64 would have sold alot more Wii U units in my opinion and would have been a marvel visually and gameplay-wise.
