In terms of ticket admissions though, meaning actual people who watched it in the cinemas,  NOTHING can surpass Titanic's unreal numbers. 

Anyway congrats to JW! It deserves every cent. Personally, no movie this year so far can compare to the FUN I've experienced watching JW. Next stop is TA's domestic gross which is pretty much toast after this week, then Age of Ultron's international gross which is also toast once JW opens in Japan or even before it.

Except the record of total ticket admissions has never belonged to Titanic. That belongs to Gone With the Wind, which released in 1939.
