One of the reasons I'd prefer for him to stay before he passed away was this in particular, he changed up a lot of things in Nintendo, things like saving Bayonetta 2 from cancellation and the SMTxFE project would have never happened before he came along. A lot of people say his approach with third parties was lacking well they clearly don't remember before he came along as he fixed a load of issues in the approach and actually made things more open then it was before he took over.
He certainly made them more unique.
