To be fair it's not Iwata and Reggie's fault that third parties, particularly EA, promised support and bailed before the system launched, while continuing to support the PS3 and 360. Sales became a legit reason to not support the console after 2013, but what about launch up to that point? |
EA just wants money. Its definitely politics that destroyed that deal. It has nothing to do with the gamers. EA destroyed the deal Microsoft had with Bioware to make more money off of Mass Effect. EA will make deals with whoever will help them, buy up real estate but they will never go exclusive without reason. It wasnt because of sales as to why EA backed out. Also, you have to remember a lot of them gave notice out to the big three that they were going to need proper hardware. If I thought there was going to be an issue it would development, it would definitely be an argument of getting the funds to downport games specifically for the sake of Nintendo and a contingency plan just incase Nintendo scared off other third parties causing multiplat gamers not to populate and buy multiplat games.
