Third parties aren't scared. They are like water, so they choose the path of least resistance. At this point it's undeniable that the easiest places to get away with their shenenigans are PlayStation and Xbox. They don't have to put in much effort to sell there. They can tell the audience that their upcoming game is going to be amazing and that's all it takes to sell a million copies in week one. In the aftermath the audience will admit that the game wasn't all that, but that doesn't stop them from falling for the same thing again when the next game comes around. Naturally, that's a more welcoming environment for third parties than a Nintendo console where even Nintendo IPs aren't safe from getting the shaft (like Metroid: Other M which flopped so hard that stores sold it for 10 Euro within a few months). If you think that my comments harm Nintendo, then I'd like you to explain the why and how. |
LOL The multiplat gamers go where the multiplatform games are. It has nothing to do with resistence. Microsoft found that out about Sony and thats why they went from 24 million consoles to 80+ million from one generation to another. If Nintendo loyalists dont buy third party then they wont. Also seems to me that a lot of Nintendo fans have smartened up and bought a secondary console (or PC) as a measure to get their hands on third party. Multiplatform games can be played anywhere applicable except Nintendo and I am guessing no one thinks to question what Nintendos issue is.
