The worst of all is that Nintendo's management probably could think they can easily get away with that. Completely forgetting possible backlash on NX sales. Sony know they can't make a new handheld, but they never tought of dropping the PS3, while the situation wasn't as bad and turned around nicely, barely supporting the U isn't the way for Nintendo.

that system costed them billions and they are still not exactly recovered from it

It turned into a small profit eventually, hell when the PS3 was on it's course it managed to even be profitable it where the TV, Bravia, Xperia and Viaro branches which where losing money big time. But still if Sony would have dropped the PS3 just because the console didn't sell to well, they wouldn't have had this amazing launch with the PS4, which is partly succesful due to PS1/PS2 and most importantly PS3 legacy.

Nintendo dropped the Wii early and lost a bit of consumerfate, whereas the gamecube and N64 didn't if Zelda U becomes cross NX and a new metroid or super mario or/and another big hit doesn't show 2016 that could be quite drastic for consumerfate in Wii U because I have not yet forgetten Wii U droughts this first half year was crap as well, with Splatoon as a light point. If that is the predecessor on the NX how high are the odds it's going to have a similair launch to Xone (which shot itself in the leg) or PS4.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar
