Ok I need to straighten this out every body on both sides needs to chill out.
Thing 1. No one in the public of any importance is calling for a complete ban of the flag. The primary movement is simply to remove the flag from state buildings. Which makes sense because A) the flag was only put up in the 50's as a reaction to the civil rights movement B) the state endorsing a terribly thought out war against their own country is in a word: retarded.
Thing 2. The reason corporations like tvland do things like this, or what happened with duck dynasty or stores saying happy holidays instead of merry Christmas isn't because of some left wing pussies carrying out some PC police conspiracy it's because at the end of the day media people and major store chains are selling something and people who want to sell to largest population possible will always choose political correctness because ultimately they want the most money from the most people. period.
I don't really care much about the flag my self but then again I am white and no attachment to it either way.
In fairness to the dukes of hazzard it does seem silly to remove a show about redneck moonshine runners because they use a flag heavily associated with, well, red neck moonshine runners. But, that's tv executives for you they just care about the bottom line and the PR.
Also for the people in the thread asking how the flag is connected to the shootings it's because the shoot actively identified with it.
