So that may also be why they don't want to show it until next year (presumably closer to launch), because they are afraid Sony/MS will copy the idea. That said, if the idea is really that interesting, they might have to brace for it being copied quickly.

I would not be too worried about it...  I think Sony and Microsoft are already having to support Morpheus and Kinect/holo lense and would be spread thin to expect them to copy Nintendo's game experience as well.   However, the closer to launch Nintendo announces what they are doing the better because it if is a hit it will be copied in some regard.
