70% of the people buying consoles from now on i think will be casual... in which case exclusive marketing rights are more important now than they have been at launch.

I personally dont think any exclusive marketing deals in the past 2 years were important at all. This holiday will be different though when families start to pick them up.

It just sucks that MS bet on the wrong horse (TR)

I disagree, I think the Destiny deal was important for Sony, and the ACU deal was important for MS. Most of the other deals were of limited benefit.

The Destiny deal was great for Sony given the huge bump in hardware sales in the first few months. Let us not forget that the Destiny sequels will most likely be tied to Playstation also. I'm not saying Destiny was a great game(I certainly did not think so) but it did sell heaps and captured the mainstream market. It helped Sony become more aligned with First-person Shooters as we now see Sony marketing rights for COD, Battlefront, Hardline etc.
