I never said Nintendo fans weren't burned by the GCN; they were, hence it's lower sales compared to the N64.

But with the Wii U, Nintendo looks to be taking it to a whole new level if they cut ties with it after this yeafr, which it looks like they will, effectively giving it a 3 year lifespan.

There is no proof that 2016 won't have more Nintendo-published titles released, they said a few months ago that this E3 would focus on 2015 titles and that's exactly what it did. So far we know of Mario & Sonic Rio Olympics, Shin Megami Tensei × Fire Emblem & The Legend of Zelda U as 2016 titles.

N64/GC/Wii may have been on the market for 5-6 years but all of them got shit support after year 4 so even if those 3 listed titles are all we get for Wii U next year, that's still only one year less than the previous 3 consoles.

That we only know of 3 games coming out beyond 2015 is awfully telling. 2016 will be what Wii's 2011/2012 was, painfully barren.

3 years of proper support is really not acceptable and will discourage gamers from investing in any of their future systems.
