I don't see why it's difficult to understand that you don't revive a series with a spinoff that abandons the protagonist the series has basically revolved around. Other M flopped for good reason, but even then, that came out in 2010. Five years is a significant amount of time in the gaming world to hear nothing. Even then, they announced it like it was a Metroid Prime title. It has to be understood that the Metroid Prime series, not just Metroid, but Metroid Prime, is Samus focused. They are games where you go through great 3D adventures with Samus. You don't throw the words "Metroid Prime" up, and then show off a fairly generic looking space shooter. That's like saying "we've listened to our fans....and have decided to troll them lololol".
