Way to step around my statement that Nintendo fans should actually buy Metroid games before they carry on like children. Although, carrying on like children is still lame. I am pretty sure Change.org had more important matters in mind when they decided to create a website for petitions. You know, like petition against poverty etc.

buying metroid games would help the franchise, but it would not really demonstrate people's disinterest in what nintendo is currently doing. If I see that the wii u is dooing poorly, does me buying a gamecube really send my message out?

Change.org is made for change, simple as that. There may be underlying moral issues that went into creating it, but it is still a website for change. So why not utilize it to change Nintendo's way of taking the easy way out (making budget games instead of full retail releases)?

I'm sorry, but Metroid fans are definitely now in my list of top 5 worst fanboys.

Think about how many games have spinoffs. I have never seen a freakout like this before.

Why are people freaking out so much over a side story? People did not freak out with the Halo developers when Halo 3: ODST featured the spartans and not Master Chief.

Hyrule Warriors - a Zelda spinoff. Did people freak out? No, not really. Link's Crossbow training? Nope.

This game is set within the Metroid universe, expanding the story. Also it has four player co-op and online play. Something a lot of people like to see in games is online co-op.

It has become obvious that Metroid fans fear any spinoff, or any change whatsoever. Samus' portrayal did not meet the imaginations of what people perceived to be in Other M, so they freaked out then too.

If people do not want the game, they should just avoid it like the plague. A petition is simply petty.

Oh and the Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze boycott/outcry by Metroid fans. Retro is allowed to make other games you know. Just because Retro is working on a game, does not mean they are working on, or should be working on Metroid. Why not have another studio work on Metroid? Why not have a spinoff? This whole scenario is simply baffling.
