Was Mario Kart a bad idea? I don't see the problem with trying a spinoff, people are overreacting immensly and fuel each other in their hate. Don't like it, don't buy it. Besides, even though I would have liked a 'proper' metroid game I don't blame them for trying something new. It's not like Metroid is a high selling franchise.
