Guys and girls,

I refused to accept it for the longest time. After I sold my 360 and ended up with an Xbox One, I was convinced (until now) that the Xbox One's predecessor was actually the better machine. After all the 360 was still a modern, connected console with a vastly superior library of games to it's successor.

However I recently borrowed my brother's 360 to see if the magic was still there......

For the most part it wasn't. The 360 now feels slow and clunky by comparison, and the framerates in many games are quite off-putting. I still had a blast after booting up Modern Warfare 2, but most other games simply haven't stood the test of time. After playing the MCC, the Halos should never be played at 30fps. It's like playing them in slow motion. The sub HD visuals I can mostly overlook, but not that framerate.

Gears fared almost as badly. Not the stunner I remember and feels less responsive than I remember. Still a pretty fun romp though.

Also, when you consider that the Xbox One has started getting some brilliant games (Witcher 3 for example) it's hard for me to stand by my old opinion.

So, have any of you felt that your 7th gen console was better, only to blow the dust off and realise that you were looking through rose-tinted glasses?
