They are in a terrible position atm. Despite being an hyper conservative idiot who could not change with his time, myazaki was a great director, which is son isn't. There were only three possible successor to myazaki, being his son (which happend to not be great), Mamoru Hosoda (One of Digimon's creators and director of Wolf Children Ame and Yuki/Summer Wars) and Makoto Shinkai (specialized in shorts/medium films, 5cm per second/The garden of words).
At this point the last news I heard from them is that they were working on a anime series (http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/japans-studio-ghibli-produce-first-676598). Which means they are ruined and desperate.
Forgot to say which was their best movies : The wind Rises.
