Nintendo should just wash their hands of the hardware pissing match.
NX is a SOFTWARE ecosystem.
You want a powerful console? Fine, there's a higher spec NX. You want something cheap? Great. There's a lower spec NX. You want a portable? Yup, we have that too, NX Tablet. etc. etc. etc.
Same games play across all the devices, effects and resolution/frame rate can scale up and down (PC has been doing it for 30 years+).
Shut the fuck up about hardware. Pick the one you want. We have games to sell.
That would be my philosophy if I'm Nintendo. Stop playing the game by Sony and MS' rules, they're not working for you, so change the rules.
Adopting Android could be a very smart maneuver too, getting ahead of Sony/MS and embracing mobile development could (note I said could) be a large scale game changer for Nintendo.
