As for the actual game, it looks pretty cool. Different enough and bigger than previous titles at least which is nice to see. At the end of the day it's still Monster Hunter, so you know what you're getting.

It's not so much a series for Nintendo as it is a series for the lowest common denominator. Capcom is trying like crazy to avoid updating these PS2 graphics.

I think it is a "benefit" but the reason.

CAP has positioned MH as a kids franchise. They know eventually they'll lose the original fans and have already positioned MH in a way they get replaced by younger fans.
