As long as the game is really good and I have fun playing it, I don't give a rat's ass what they do with her.
Make her a warrior? Fine.
Make her your typical damsel in distress? Ok.
Make her the main character? Would be an interesting & nice change of pace, sure, though I'm perfectly fine right now playing as Link.
Do whatever you want, just make sure it's good, and make sure it's the best game it can possibly be.
