I think there is a vast difference in supporting gamers during holiday season and throughout the year. I doubt xbox players only play during the holiday period. Both companies are still a bit flat on releases but if you look at actual games released throughout the year, Sony are doing a far greater job. The problem is MS know holiday season is the most important and mostly concentrate on that whilst Sony spreads isit's releases making it look like there is nothing to play on the system.
MS will have a stronger holiday for sure unless Sony really hits it home with No Man's Sky, Battlefront and any other exclusives they may release that are big enough to take on Halo, Gears, Forza and Tomb Raider.
So far Sony only has a rumour of an uncharted trilogy (hoping they throw in an uncharted 4 demo), Tearaway, and maybe No Man's Sky.
