No doubt. But its still baffling that hype sells more than actual games themselves nowadays

It's not just hype, but expectation. Sony has already proven in 3 consecutive generations that it is able to deliver games in both quantity and quality throughout the whole console cycle.

So to say that PS4 only sells on hype is a tiny bit condescending.

Its not condescending at all. It's a personal opinion. Just as your opinion is the exact opposite
