If only we'd had a vote on the matter here in Australia we would have had it years ago; the majority of Australians support marriage equality, its just the ruling government that are arse backwards.

And it's not likely to change in the next couple of years until we get a change of government, particularly PM. I don't doubt that it would pass here easily though.
