Without reading other people's comments yet, I'll pass my own comment so I'm coming in with a fresh view. @OP, it's because you're playing console-like games on a handheld. I grew up playing both handhelds and consoles. I still remember the days of the gameboy color and gameboy advance, and the PS1 and N64. Certain types and styles of game just feel much better on handheld than on console. I'll give a few examples:
Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword (regular DS)
Any game from the Pokemon main series (not the spin offs)
Professor Layton Series
Ace Attorney Series
Trauma Center Series
Animal Crossing (even though it started on console)
The top view, 2.5D Zelda games
The Golden Sun series
Most 2D adventure games, Indie or not
Augmented Reality Games
Almost everything in your list is either a port, or a handheld version of a gameplay style that originally started out on consoles. And while games like Resident Evil Revelations will be better experiences on consoles, when I was in school, having a handheld made a world of a difference. I live in Nigeria. We don't have constant power supply. At home, that's not a big issue. We'll use our generator. But in school, I have no say in when the school puts on its generator. And even if I did, it was hard to find anyone who had a TV in his room (and even if you did, it probably won't be a HDTV) to plug a console to. Not to go on talking, but I can give many reasons why a handheld is better than a console for anyone in a dormitory over here. That might not apply to you.
