Well I keep my hope up then...
played first 2 worlds and left it liek you did... teh issue for me is that the game can only be played on teh game pad - I can't draw on teh pad and look at the tv so I am like missing the design on a big screen.
Amiibo compatability is poor too...
Not sure I will not keep it - Somehow I had more fun with mario Party 10.
