Also, region locking could be removed from the 3ds and wiiu with a firmware update, if they were genuinely considering nx being region free why would they cling to region locking on the 3ds and wiiu?

for the same reason they decided to add region locking to the 3ds and wiiu in the first place. because fuck the consumer.
