ok....I think typical console life should be expected from the 360...so 2010-2011 seems like a pretty good estimate.
But have you seen the library of games on the system? If you like those kinds of games, then you have an entire console life of games to play. Seriously, if you like shooters/sports games, then you'll have enough to play regardless of whether any new exclusives appear on the 360.
The only question to ask yourself is whether that price tag warrants a purchase. It's not at mass-consumer price levels yet (299 for the highest model) so for me the answer is unfortunately no...but you may have an extra $500 lying around and I think it could be well worth a purchase.
