The current LTD tie ratios for the three systems in the US are, according to NPD:

* Xbox 360: software sales ratio: 7.5
* Wii: software sales ratio: 5.3
* PS3: software sales ratio: 4.6

http://www.joystiq.com/2008/04/24/npds-latest-software-tie-ratios-for-consoles/

NPD doesn't count Wii Sports and if you take out Wii Play, the Wii still is at 4.7-4.8.

Now I am not saying that you or anyone else should write such an evil article that the PS3 is doomed in the USA. I was just asking why nobody has written one, even though theoratically you could write such an article based on real data and with the inclusion of some FUD.

But instead everyone seems to be focusing on badmouthing the Wii based on wrong and/or misleading data.

 Ah, sorry for the misunderstanding. I was referring to the "PS3 am d00med" argument as being the false one, not the tie ratios. As for why no one writes them: as DMeisterJ pointed out, they were the flavor of the month last year, although tie ratios never really were mentioned because up until recently no one gave a fig about them. Publishers care less about what percentage of the userbase they're selling to, and more about the total units sold. I don't remember tie ratios being mentioned very often before last winter, when the Wii was as hot as it is now, and detractors were scrambling to find some way to make it look bad. If we're still talking about tie ratios a year from now, I will be quite surprised.
