12k doesn't has never currently referred to the actual resolution
just like 4k doesn't technically refer to the resolution, 4k is UHD or 2160p, however 2 1080p screens can also be "4K" despite not being 2160p, nowadays 4K UHD resolution is possible so thats less common
1080p is 2K
4K with 3 screens is "12K"
PC Racing games have supported 3 screens for quite some time now.
