My anecedotal evidence, all my consoles still work, except for my 360 which is broken and my GC which I lost, but it never stopped working, my xbox had one controller that suddenly vibrated out of control, and my PS2 got a disc read error and broke when my TV fell on it, but it was repaired both times. But I've also only owned up to a 64. My cousins SNES still works though
