So, because of UBW, I've been in a Type Moon frame of mind. That's drawn me to rewatch Kara no Kyoukai.
Four episodes in, do I still think it's one of the best anime ever produced? Absolutely.
Do I still think Shiki is one of the most interesting and compelling characters ever portrayed in anime? Without a shadow of a doubt.
There are a lot of quality anime out there but very few that truly transcend the medium to the point that you can show them to non-fans and just say, "forget that it's animated." Serial Experiments Lain and Monster come to mind immediately but it's a relatively short list. Kara no Kyoukai definitely belongs.
Give me moar Type Moon and ufotable plz. It's past time for another Tsukihime, isn't it?
